Polypropylene (PP) is a thermoplastic resin made from the polymerization of propylene monomers. Block copolymerized polypropylene (PPB) is a block copolymer of propylene and ethylene formed by adding a small amount of ethylene monomer during the polymerization of propylene, which has significantly improved impact resistance, especially low-temperature impact performance, but heat resistance and rigidity are slightly lower than that of homopolymerized polypropylene. In the automotive industry, PPB is commonly used in the production of automotive bumpers, instrument panels and other parts, can withstand a certain impact to protect the vehicle and passenger safety; can also be used to manufacture automotive interior parts, such as door panels, seat shells, etc., with a certain degree of strength and toughness. In the field of packaging, PPB can be made into heavy packaging film for packaging heavy goods, such as fertilizer, grain, etc., with good tear resistance and puncture resistance.
Random copolymer polypropylene (PPR) is a copolymer of propylene and ethylene in the polymerization of random arrangement, high transparency, impact resistance and low temperature resistance performance is better, while having excellent chemical resistance and aging resistance. In the field of construction, PPR pipeline is one of its most important applications, because of its good heat resistance and pressure resistance, and is not easy to scale, is widely used in indoor hot and cold water piping systems, heating systems, etc.; compared with the traditional metal pipeline, PPR pipeline is light in weight, easy to install, and greatly reduces the construction cost. In the field of medical devices, PPR can be used to make syringes, infusion sets and other disposable medical devices, with good biocompatibility and safety.
In addition to the common types mentioned above, there is also reinforced polypropylene (FRPP), which is made by adding glass fibers and other reinforcing materials to polypropylene, with higher strength, rigidity, and heat resistance, while retaining the chemical resistance of polypropylene.FRPP has a wide range of applications in the chemical industry, and is used to make chemical tanks, pipelines, and other equipment, which can withstand corrosion of various chemical media and ensure the safe conduct of chemical production. In the automotive industry, FRPP can be used to manufacture engine peripheral parts, such as intake manifolds, taking advantage of its lightweight and high-temperature resistant properties.
